Just time for a quick post before work. Weekend away in Gower, not on a particularly good forecast for surf or wind, just to get away for a break. Left on an after work flyer and was at the Kings Head pub Llangennith for last orders. Camping nearby and a lazy Sat am waiting for the tide to come in and the swell to pick up. All of us (Colin, Maria, Gregg) got out on the sups during the day and then a beautiful evening session at high tide with about 3 foot waves and no wind. Decided it was worth an early rise so went to bed early and got up at 6.30 for another even better session. Then a well earned bacon buttie at the campsite, read the sunday papers and finally a chilled out walk along the gower reefs (we even saw One Show presenter Adrian Chiles - this weekend had everything).
I had forgotten how great the Gower is.
Looks great fun and makes me feel a bit lazy - need to get off this peninsula!
ReplyDeleteNext time you'll have to come while I'm home.....looks like you got some small waves-Ian
ReplyDeleteWe'll be there in August on the next swell. Emile pack your tent
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of sweeping going on to me...
ReplyDeletePics are Maria and Colin. Both were doing really well and catching lots of waves. Especially Maria who b4 her French holiday couldn't really catch waves at all. Much less steep learning curve on sups than windsurfing! (only problem is she now wants to go in the water when it's good instead of taking pictures - these ones don't show the evening glassy session).
