Hot Winds

This weekend reminded me of windsurfing abroad at a resort, hot, hot, hot, flat water slalom sailing and cross offshore and gusty!! I sailed off Mudeford sandspit on Friday and Saturday with my VMAX 6.6. Was a strange affair, one second there was barely enough wind to hold the sail up to being mighty overpowered. I made a classic mistake though of sailing broad towards the Isle of Wight only to turn around and realise that it wasn't actually a windline, just a big gust. I spent the best part of the next hour tacking on shifts trying to get back and keep planing. The sea here is still bloody freezing, unlike East Wittering where it must be 5 degrees warmer, I made the second vital mistake of wearing a shortie thinking that I wouldn't fall in. I fell in straight away.
